Who Is Your Kinsman Redeemer?

October 17, 2020

[In order to understand what a kinsman redeemer is we need to start in the Torah, Yahweh’s teachings and instructions.]

(Lev 25:23-28 ISV) "The land is not to be sold with any finality, because the land belongs to Me. You're sojourners and travelers with Me. 25:24 So throughout all of your land inheritance, grant the right of redemption for the land. 25:25 "If your brother is poor so that he had to sell a portion of his inheritance, then his nearest kinsman redeemer is to come and redeem what his brother has sold. 25:26 If a person doesn't have a kinsman redeemer but has become rich and found sufficient means for his redemption, 25:27 then let him account for the years for which it was sold, return the excess to the person to whom it was sold, and then return to his property. 25:28 If he's not able to redeem it back for himself, then what he sold is to remain in the hand of the buyer until the year of jubilee. In the jubilee, it is to be returned so he may return to his property.

(Gen 1:1 KJV) In the beginning Almighty created the heaven and the earth.

(Gen 1:27 KJV) So Almighty created man in His own image, in the image of Almighty created He him; male and female created He them.

(Mar 13:19 BBE) For in those days there will be sorrow, such as there has not been from the time when Almighty made the world till now, and will not ever be again.

[I think we are all in agreement with the three last statements above, but if not lets see where this leads anyway.

In this land we have copy write laws and patent laws to protect the efforts of one person or entity from stealing another s ideas and or their work. If we grant this to Yahweh our Almighty then since He created all things, including man, He has the right to demand man’s obedience as His just recompense.

If the man refuses does he not owe his Creator recompense? After all he has used the body, breath, all the rest of creation without paying for them. Is not stealing taking for your own use what you did not create, or buy, or has been freely given – no strings attached? No matter how closely related the owner is to you?]

(Gen 2:15-17 BBE) And the Most High Almighty took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to do work in it and take care of it. 2:16 And the Most High Almighty gave the man orders, saying, You may freely take of the fruit of every tree of the garden: 2:17 But of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you may not take; for on the day when you take of it, death will certainly come to you.

[By man’s acceptance of the use of the garden he agreed to do the work and to obey the one negative command as well. If you do not know the rest of the story go back to your copy of the scriptures and start at chapter 1 and you will soon find out how we got in the mess we are today. Man has been using his free choice ever since his creation.

But no where in the original agreement was there a way for man to gain back what he had rejected without a thought, so death has reined ever since.

So how do we regain the fellowship with Yahweh that Adam surrendered to the enemy?]

(Jer 31:1-3 KJV) At the same time, saith Yahweh, will I be the Almighty of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people. 31:2 Thus saith Yahweh, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest. 31:3 Yahweh hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.

(Hos 11:4 KJV) I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

(Rom 11:11-14 KJV I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? Almighty forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 11:14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

[The entire nation of Israel, all of them, are loved of Yahweh. He loves them so much He has made a way for anybody who will love Him enough to obey Him to join His family. He has done this from the beginning and has made the path visual in the forming of the nation of Israel.]

(Rom 11:15-18 KJV) For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? 11:16 For if the first fruit be set-apart, the lump is also set-apart: and if the root be set-apart, so are the branches. 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 11:18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

[Israel was given the job of teaching the world, by example, of how to live in agreement with their Creator. They have not done the job willingly, but because of their guarding of the Torah [Yahweh’s teachings and instructions] we have our scriptures. Even without the scriptures the evidence of a Creator is all around us and especially in our own minds and bodies which are still a mystery in many ways.

If we want to be a family member we need to know the house rules. Those rules are spelled out in the first 5 books of Torah. Some of the rules apply only to those living in the land Yahweh gave them under His direct supervision, so they can only be applied in those circumstance. Some apply only to those who serve in the temple/tabernacle, some only to men, some only to women, some only to children, and some to the stranger in the land. There are also those that apply to all persons. But all these rules came from Yahweh to Moses and the Prophets, and teachers established by Him. They were to stand for all time. A prime example is our opening scripture dealing with debt secured by the land. This can only be applied in Israel with Yahweh as the ruler. If you continue in that portion you will find the release of debt every seven years, which appears today in our bankruptcy laws.

When we read the Ten Commandments we see that many of our nations laws are drawn from the last five commands. The manner these are to be lived out are clearly spelled out in Torah and the many examples of the consequences of obedience and disobedience are spelled out in the rest of scripture, all of them.

Romans chapter 11 states that the world was given an open door into this family that the world might shame Israel by its ability to live out these same rules joyfully.

Israel had the Exodus and the world has the example of Yahshua living as Yahweh desires to draw us to Him in love.

The scriptures from Jeremiah 31 and Hosea 11 speak of Yahweh’s great love and how He draws His children with the cords of love. So how are we to receive the promises?]

(Jer 31:31-34 KJV) Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith Yahweh: 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahweh, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Almighty, and they shall be My people. 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

(Heb 8:10 KJV) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Most High; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them an Almighty, and they shall be to Me a people:

(Heb 10:8-18 KJV) Above when He said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 10:9 Then said He, Lo, I come to do thy will, O Almighty. He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second. 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Yahshua Messiah once for all. 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 10:12 But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of Almighty; 10:13 From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool. 10:14 For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 10:15 Whereof the set-apart Spirit also is a witness to us: for after that He had said before, 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Most High, I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.]

[The temple service was to remind people of their obligation of obedience to Yahweh, not as a punishment or fine, but as a cleansing of the heart and mind of evil, to make an individual starkly aware of their own short coming.]

(Exo 12:3-6 KJV) Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 12:4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

[This is the instructions for the first Passover. Imagine a household with children and a lamb is separated from the flock, will it not become the object of their attention and affection. How hard to take it from them and kill it. When asked why, to have to admit it was because you had been disobedient to your Creator, your heavenly Father. How much easier it became when the lamb was taken away to be killed at the tabernacle, and later at the temple, and the family no longer had to witness the slaughter.

Yahweh desires our hearts obedience, not our obedience to duty. Without our heart involvement we will not learn to love Him, but to resent the claims He has to our hearts.

The reason Yahshua was a perfect redeemer was because He came, He taught both orally and by example, He lived in perfect obedience to Torah while pointing out what man had added and Yahweh had not required, and He did it in love. His life example was of love shown in thought, word, and deed. All Yahweh’s requirements are given to give us that we might have a long and satisfying life here on earth and to fit us to live in peace and joy with Him in the hereafter, not to show us who is boss. He who had known Yahweh’s presence gave that up along with great personal strength to come here and live among a people who would hate and despise Him. A people who would not make Him their own and to this day still, as a nation, reject Him. He came willingly, knowing what awaited Him, knowing the majority would not only reject Him personally, but also the gift He died to give them, the freedom from sin and its consequences- death.]

(Joh 7:42 KJV) Hath not the scripture said, That Messiah cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

(Heb 2:1-10 BBE) For this reason there is the more need for us to give attention to the things which have come to our ears, for fear that by chance we might be slipping away. 2:2 Because if the word which came through the angels was fixed, and in the past every evil act against Yahweh's orders was given its full punishment; 2:3 What will come on us, if we do not give our minds to such a great salvation? a salvation of which our fathers first had knowledge through the words of the Most High, and which was made certain to us by those to whom His words came; 2:4 And Almighty was a witness with them, by signs and wonders, and by more than natural powers, and by His distribution of the set-apart Spirit at His pleasure. 2:5 For He did not make the angels rulers over the world to come, of which I am writing. 2:6 But a certain writer has given his witness, saying, What is man, that You keep him in mind? what is the son of man, that You take him into account? 2:7 You made him a little lower than the angels; You gave him a crown of beauty and honour, and made him ruler over all the works of your hands: 2:8 You put all things under his feet. For in making man the ruler over all things, Almighty did not put anything outside his authority; though we do not see everything under him now. 2:9 But we see Him who was made a little lower than the angels, even Yahshua, crowned with magnificence and honour, because He let Himself be put to death so that by the grace of Almighty He might undergo death for all men. 2:10 Because it was right for Him, for whom and through whom all things have being, in guiding His sons to honor, to make the captain of their salvation complete through pain.

[In the first five books of scripture we are given the beginnings of mankind and the agreements he entered into with his creator from generation to generation. Here we are given the answer to how a loving Heavenly Father will rescue His disobedient children from the consequences of their wrong choices.]

(Heb 2:11-13 BBE) For He who makes set-apart and those who are made set-apart are all of one family; and for this reason it is no shame for Him to give them the name of brothers, 2:12 Saying, I will give the knowledge of Your name to My brothers, I will make a song of praise to You before the church. 2:13 And again He says, I will put My faith in Him. And again, See, I am here, and the children which Almighty has given to Me.

[John 17.6 plainly states that Yahweh set certain persons to be Yahshua’s, so Yahshua rightly calls us His kinfolks.]

(Heb 2:14-18 BBE) And because the children are flesh and blood, He took a body Himself and became like them; so that by His death He might put an end to him who had the power of death, that is to say, the Evil One; 2:15 And let those who all their lives were in chains because of their fear of death, go free. 2:16 For, truly, He does not take on the life of angels, but that of the seed of Abraham. 2:17 Because of this it was necessary for Him to be made like His brothers in every way, so that He might be a high priest full of mercy and keeping faith in everything to do with Almighty, making offerings for the sins of the people. 2:18 For having been put to the test Himself, He is able to give help to others when they are tested.

[Because Yahweh is our creator He is able to do what ever is necessary to bring the children home! Yahshua willingly left His abode with Yahweh and took up a human body with no more power than we have. So how was He able to heal, make the dead live, calm the seas, etc.?]

(Mat 26:42-44BBE) Again, a second time He went away, and said in prayer, O My Father, if this may not go from Me without My taking it, let Your pleasure be done. 26:43 And He came again and saw them sleeping, for their eyes were tired. 26:44 And He went away from them again, and a third time said the same prayer.

(Luk 11:2-4 BBE) And He said to them, When you say your prayers, say, Father, may Your name be kept set-apart and Your kingdom come. 11:3 Give us every day bread for our needs. 11:4 May we have forgiveness for our sins, as we make free all those who are in debt to us. And let us not be put to the test.

(Mat 14:23 BBE) And after He had sent the people away, He went up into the mountain by Himself for prayer: and when evening was come, He was there by Himself.

(Mat 26:36 BBE) Then comes Yahshua with them to a place named Gethsemane, and says to His disciples, Be seated here, while I go over there for prayer.

(Luk 3:21 BBE) Now it came about that when all the people had been given baptism, Yahshua, having had baptism with them, was in prayer, when, the heaven being open,

(Joh 17:9 BBE) My prayer is for them: My prayer is not for the world, but for those whom You have given to Me, because they are Yours

[Yahshua was able to walk the walk Yahweh set before Him because;

He loved His Father and that love led Him to a walk of obedience,

He spend a part of each day in the presence of Yahweh though prayer.

True love seeks the best for the beloved.]

(Rom 13:10 KJV) Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

(1Jn 4:7-9 KJV) Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of Almighty; and every one that loveth is born of Almighty, and knoweth Almighty. 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not Almighty; for Almighty is love. 4:9 In this was manifested the love of Almighty toward us, because that Almighty sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

(1Jn 4:10-16 KJV) Herein is love, not that we loved Almighty, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 4:11 Beloved, if Almighty so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 4:12 No man hath seen Almighty at any time. If we love one another, Almighty dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us. 4:13 Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit. 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Yahshua is the Son of Almighty, Almighty dwelleth in him, and he in Almighty. 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that Almighty hath to us. Yahweh Almighty is love; and He that dwelleth in love dwelleth in Almighty, and Almighty in him.

(Joh 13:33-35 KJV) Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek Me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.

[Without love for Yahweh and Yahshua can we love one another as we should? I do not believe it is possible to give what we do not have. Yahweh is the author of true love, love that wishes no harm, love that is unselfish, love that desires the best possible outcome for the beloved. Human love often falls short of that kind of true love for we are selfish, in part for our self preservation, Yahweh does not have to look to that since He is the author of all good. Still we are commanded to love one another.]

(Act 17:24-28 KJV) Yahweh that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is the Most High of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed any thing, seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 17:27 That they should seek the Most High, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us: 17:28 For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.

[The enemy has used our distrust of anyone, or anything different from what we are accustomed too to set us against one another. Yahweh has time and again said we MUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER. This is said without limiting that love to those who are just like us. Within the body of Messiah racial difference has no place. Within the body cultural differences need not separate us if we are all living according to Torah for we will all have common ground rules for worship and social practices. Our homes may be different but our belief systems will be the same. At the present time the world is rioting against restrictions set by human governments. In Yahweh’s communities this should not be happening, nor should His people be taking part in lawlessness.]

(Joh 8:31-36 KJV) Then said Yahshua to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed; 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 8:33 They answered Him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest Thou, Ye shall be made free? 8:34 Yahshua answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

(Joh 8:34 JUB) Yahshua answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commits sin is the slave of sin.

From Websters Dictionary: KINS'MAN, n. [kin and man.] A man of the same race or family; one related by blood. Webster

G4773 From G4862 and G1085; a relative (by blood); by extension a fellow countryman: - cousin, kin (-sfolk, -sman).

G4862 A primary preposition denoting union; with or together (but much closer than G3326 or G3844), that is, by association, companionship, process, resemblance, possession, instrumentality, addition, etc.: - beside, with. In compounds it has similar applications, including completeness.

[Yahshua has called us His brothers and sisters, therefore we are His kinsmen. His sacrifice was the sacrifice to pay the debt owed by each of us for our disobedience to Yahweh our Creator. None of us has more, nor are we more than Yahweh and all we have or have access to comes from Yahweh. We have nothing to offer in payment for our past debts since all comes from our Heavenly Father Yahweh. That is why Yahshua came. It was His willingness, His complete dependence on Yahweh, His love of our common Father and of all human kind that made His sacrifice sufficient to cover all repented sins. It is also the will of , the Father of us all, for any who wants to be free to have a door to that freedom. Yahshua is that door.]

(Rev 3:14-22 DRB) And to the angel of the church of Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, who is the beginning of the creation of Yahweh: 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot. I would thou wert cold or hot. 3:16 But because thou art lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of My mouth. 3:17 Because thou sayest: I am rich and made wealthy and have need of nothing: and knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of Me gold, fire tried, that thou mayest be made rich and mayest be clothed in white garments: and that the shame of thy nakedness may not appear. And anoint thy eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. 3:19 Such as I love, I rebuke and chastise. Be zealous therefore and do penance. 3:20 Behold, I stand at the gate and knock. If any man shall hear My voice and open to Me the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him: and he with Me. 3:21 To him that shall overcome, I will give to sit with Me in My throne: as I also have overcome and am set down with My Father in His throne. 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

[If the day of Atonement has come and gone for this year, but your life is still lacking the peace that passes understanding, perhaps you need to continue to look at your daily habits and seek Yahweh’s perspective on your thoughts, words, and deeds. If you are dissatisfied with your life perhaps you have accidentally allowed that which displeases your Father in heaven to enter in.

There is no jubilee year from sin. All sin must be put under the blood of Yahshua, or it must be paid for by the sinner with their total separation from Yahweh’s love.

Yahshua is the perfect Kinsman Redeemer. Ask Him and He will gladly become your redeemer, if you have not already asked. If you have asked in the past and have slipped in some area He is able to save you from that sin as well, if you repent.]

PS: The question was asked, “can we act as a kinsman redeemer today?” The answer is Yes, in the physical. Only Yahshua has the righteousness needed to be a spiritual redeemer, only He has the permission of the Father to be the instrument of our salvation. The rest of us are called to be witnesses to the effectiveness of His redemption power.
