Whose Fault Is It?

April 11, 2020

[Today we are going to visit Ezekiel 18 to see who Yahweh holds responsible for our sins.]

(Eze 18:1-2 KJV)  The word of Yahweh came unto me again, saying, 18:2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?

[This says that the children bear the results of their parents evil. This is a theory as old as pointing the finger is. Today's mental health practitioners use it to explain our choices and to relieve us of at least a little guilt for bad choices.]

(Eze 18:3 KJV) As I live, saith the Most High Yahweh, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

[In Yahweh's kingdom if you do the deed you are the only one to die, no one else will be required to pay for your sins at the judgment seat where ALL THE TRUTH IS KNOWN. Every decision made will be laid at the feet of the one making the choice. There are times when a person chooses what seems to be the lesser of two evils, the one that lets you continue on. The choice is still evil and it is yours to answer for even if the only other choice seems to lead to death or great physical harm. It is still yours to make!]

(Eze 18:5-6 KJV) But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, 18:6 And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman,

[They offered gifts to others they called gods on the mountains and under the trees, and even brought the idols into the temple of Yahweh. Adultery was alive and well just as it is today. Sexual practices have always been a part of false worship and that is a reason Yahweh hates it so deeply for it is the easiest way to be pulled from Him. I have watched many who love a human more than their creator or the one who died that they might have salvation pull away from righteousness and seen how much worse their lives became with that choice. I have never seen a one that did not lose more than what they feared to lose if they followed the path home to Yahweh where all things will be right. Unless you have studied or been told you probably did not know that intercourse during a woman's menstruation is a health hazard for both male and female, but especially for the woman. It is not 100% sure as a prevention against pregnancy, it does happen.]

(Eze 18:7 KJV) And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment;

[Oppressed – to use violence, to treat badly, to take advantage, to fail to repay a debt, to rob; these are things Yahweh's child will not do. What Yahweh's child will do is to share what they have with those less fortunate.]

(Eze 18:8-9 KJV) He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, 18:9 Hath walked in My statutes, and hath kept My judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Most High Yahweh.

[Usury used to be any interest over 6%, but according to scripture any interest is usury. To accept something for your time and trouble when you are 'helping someone out' is also wrong, it is not wrong if payment has been agreed upon before hand.. If they are in trouble why would you think to profit at their expense, that is not helping them that is enriching self. True judgment leaves out your personal bias and attachments to either side. To walk in Yahweh's statutes you have to have read scripture for yourselves, else how do you know for sure? Do as Yahweh says and you shall live and not die for an other's sins. That does not mean you cannot die because another chooses to sin, but you will not pay for an-others sin in the hereafter. ]

(Eze 18:10-13 KJV) If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things, 18:11 And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife,

18:12 Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination, 18:13 Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.

[At Yahweh's judgment all truth is known, nothing can be hid. Not thoughts, nor actions, nor emotions. Yahweh will judge righteously for He is righteous!]

(Eze 18:14-17 KJV) Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, 18:15 That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour's wife, 18:16 Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment, 18:17 That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed My judgments, hath walked in My statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.

[Because the son did not follow the example of the father – wait there is more to it. The son studied to find out how to live the good life else he would not have known Yahweh's statutes, those rules that give a good life. Because of his own choice not to follow but to seek for a better way. That is the reason he shall not die. Not just because he chose not to do evil, but also because he chose to follow Yahweh. We can be ever so good and still be a sinner in need of a savior. The ultimate sin is to deny Yahweh a place in your heart and thereby your life. By denying Yahweh you also, in fact, deny His son Yahshua even if you call Him your savior. To deny one is to deny both for one leads to the other where honest hearts exist. If you except Yahshua as your door to forgiveness you must except the right of rulership to the one giving the forgiveness – Yahweh our heavenly Father.]

(Eze 18:18-20 KJV) As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity. 18:19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all My statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

[At the judgment seat we will each answer for ourselves, no one else! My choices are my choices and I alone will reap what I have sown. Except – if I have accepted the shed blood of Yahshua to cover my past sins. See that is the thing – we sin all the time, small or great sin is sin. To know what sin is you have to know what righteousness is, and you can only KNOW if you study the scriptures where Yahweh's way is spelled out – plainly. To live in ignorance is a choice that will cost you your eternal life. To refuse to learn brings the same results that knowing does.]

(Eze 18:21-22 KJV) But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all My statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 18:22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

[You need to study the first five books of the scriptures to know what Yahweh expects from those who would become a part of His true family. Only when you know what sin is – the breaking of Yahweh's Torah or law – can you walk in obedience. If you want life, and that more abundant and free you must be a law abiding citizen. If you want a future life when no sin nor sorrow exist you must prepare for it in this life. Yahweh created us and gave us free choice, our choices are our own and their consequences are also our own.]

(Eze 18:23-24 KJV) Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Most High Yahweh: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

[Each sin must be turned from – set free from any attachments to the life of a true believer. Why believer? Because only those who have chosen to walk according to Torah show their belief by their obedience. Yahshua said it

(Joh 14:15 KJV) If ye love Me, keep My commandments.

And again in

(Joh 15:10 KJV) If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love.

Belief is a verb and calls for action, in this case the one who claims to be a believer. The action is to learn what the commandments are then to apply them to your own life. If you cannot be happy living a righteous life you would not be happy living in Yahweh's house for all who enter do so with hearts full of the joy of obedience.]

(Eze 18:25-28 KJV) Yet ye say, The way of the Most High is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not My way equal? are not your ways unequal? 18:26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. 18:27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 18:28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

[No extenuating circumstances – just what actually took place- true repentance ( the turning away from sin and a turning to Yahweh – a two step not a one step process.) is required for us to receive forgiveness. With forgiveness comes a relationship with the one giving the forgiveness. A daily meeting in prayer and study of His words. Surely the considering is the time spent with Yahweh!]

(Eze 18:29-32 KJV) Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Most High is not equal. O house of Israel, are not My ways equal? are not your ways unequal? 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Most High Yahweh. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Most High Yahweh: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

[As long as we make excuses for sin we walk outside the will of our Father. As long as we are outside His will, we are walking in our own will! Yahweh calls all people to come to Him and He is the one who sets the path for that journey, and it is a journey that includes every second of every day. We have free choice and each choice has its own consequences. Bad choices need repentance, repentance brings forgiveness, but does not do away with the consequences. The enemy who would claim your worship will try to deceive you and make you doubt your salvation by pointing out that the consequences are still there so have you really received forgiveness? Do not listen to that voice it lies! With true repentance the consequences may be altered because of your changed attitude, but there will still be consequences. Hang in there Yahweh never drops anyone. You only leave by your own choice!]
