Catch His Words
March 6, 2021
[I am in 1Kings and the following verse kept me searching for over 30 minutes. I was so drawn in that I just have to share it with you.]
(1Ki 20:33KJV) Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him [Ahab], and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Benhadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
[When I first read this I thought they were looking to receive a reward, and in a way they were, they were seeking to save their lives. They hoped when Ahab did not refute Benhadad as his brother that all was well. It would be well with us if we latched onto Yahshua’s words with such hope for salvation.]
(1Ki 20:33AFV) And the men carefully observed, and quickly picked up on his word, and they said, "Your brother Ben-Hadad." And he said, "Go and bring him." And Ben- Hadad came out to him, and he caused him to come up into the chariot.
[When I did a comparison with my other versions the ‘A Faithful Version’ made it the plainest for me. The observation was of Ahab’s words and how they might be taken/understood to bring about the desired results – mercy where none had been shown by themselves.
Is this not the situation we face when we ask our Father Yahweh to forgive us, even when we have been His enemy all of our life? When we do not gather with Him we are scattering the Children. If we are scattering the children are we not Yahweh’s enemy?]
(Mat 12:30 KJV) He that is not with Me is against Me; and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.
(Mat 12:30BBE) Whoever is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not take part with Me in getting people together, is driving them away.
[So the questions are: Have you asked for His forgiveness? Are you working with Him?
In 1Kings 20.33 the men are asking for their lives. Is that not what we do when we seek forgiveness from Yahweh through acknowledging the power of Yahshua’s sacrifice?
I know there are some blessings that give such joy and/or release from pain that you just want to hold them close and receive their healing. But the time comes when you are required to share if you really have fallen in love with Yahweh.
To not praise Him and worship Him is the sin of rejection of good in favor of evil, for any thing that is not of Yahweh is evil.
The Father of us all requires an all-or-nothing-at-all loyalty from His family. We have received a great blessing in that when Yahweh forgives He also casts the memory of that sin into the deepest ocean never to be recalled. When we are loyal, true to what we have agreed to, Yahweh can accomplish great things through us without us necessarily realizing it at the time. If we have taken hold of the words of scripture and made them the guide for our life we have secured our life.]
(Joh 11:45-53 KJV) Then many of the Jews which came to Mary [Lazarus’s sister], and had seen the things which Yahshua did, believed on Him. 11:46 But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Yahshua had done. 11:47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles. 11:48 If we let Him thus alone, all men will believe on Him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. 11:49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, 11:50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. 11:51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yahshua should die for that nation; 11:52 And not for that nation only, but that also He should gather together in one the children of Almighty that were scattered abroad. 11:53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put Him to death.
[The resurrection of Lazarus was certainly something the priests could not do and they coveted the power and reputation of Yahshua. Their sin of coveting led to the sin of murder, the shedding of innocent blood. Instead of joining the in-gathering they were plotting to lead in the scattering of Yahweh’s faithful children.
Perhaps you have been a victim of religious prosecution and no one seemed to recognize it for what it was – still you have stood the test and what we do for Yahweh here and are not rewarded for in this life we will receive a better reward for in the next life.]
(Mat 5:10-12 KJV) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. 5:12 KJV) Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
[This is a blessing a wise person would not pray for, but if a wise person received the gift of testing they would be thankful for the opportunity. All we earn in our human pursuits can be taken from us, but what Yahweh stores for us is always safe from the destruction by others. Like our personal relationships our spiritual relationships can be destroyed if we insist on stepping from the Path laid before us. We need to be sure that it is our testimony that is under attack and not our pride, arrogance, stubbornness, or other character trait that makes our message, or the manner we deliver it a problem. Or perhaps our life does not match our words. After all if the words we are speaking have not changed our life how can we be telling a truth we know from our own experience when we say it can change an other's life?]
(Mat 6:1-5 KJV) Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have honor of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
[I do not think this is speaking of most group efforts for there the group usually gets the praise and they can pass it on to Yahweh. Some make a big show and even gather others to help so their personal reputation stands out. I know more than one person who helps the less fortunate and their personal actions are never spoken of, except quietly among friends, for they step away from praise. Verse 3 speaks of not keeping account of our good works.]
(Luk 6:32-36 AFV) But if you love only those who love you, what praise is it to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 6:33 And if you do good only to those who are doing good to you, what praise is it to you? For even sinners do the same. 6:34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what praise is it to you? For even sinners lend to sinners, that they may receive as much again. 6:35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest; for He is good to the unthankful and the wicked. 6:36 Therefore, you also be compassionate, even as your Father is compassionate.
(Jas 2:14 -16 AFV) My brethren, what good does it do, if anyone says that he has faith, and does not have works? Is faith able to save him? 2:15 Now then, if there be a brother or sister who is naked and destitute of daily food, 2:16 And one of you says to them, "Go in peace; be warmed and be filled," and does not give to them the things necessary for the body, what good is it?
[If Yahweh is my Father He is my Head! His word is my chosen law! His words, not my emotions, are the guide for my life, therefore I will strive to fulfill His desires for my personal spiritual growth. Forgiveness is sometimes easier to give than love for love requires a commitment to not only do them no harm, but to also wish them no harm. More than that, it requires me to render them aid when needed without being asked if I have the means. It may be that you do not have the means but you are friends with one who does have means and can make the need known to them. Our street corners have beggars on them that we often pass by for we are unprepared to help. To give cash is not wise for there is no way to know how it will be used. Jeb Spredemann has developed a means for all to participate if you are willing. If you do not know how to accomplish this in a small inexpensive way go to: facebook.com/ProjectvagabondbyJebspredemann
This is a small way to be prepared to help at a moments need. Do not let the fact there are professional beggars stop us from obeying our Father to help His children, all of them we can. Let Yahweh be their judge.]
(Joh 13:34 AFV) A new commandment I [Yahshua]give to you: that you love one another in the same way that I have loved you, that is how you are to love one another. 13:35 By this shall everyone know that you are My disciples—if you love one another."
[So we are to show our love in practical ways, not just lip service, or throw $ at a problem. There is to be heart involvement. No cold shoulder to the ragged, unclean, unhealthy, the out casts of society while we make nice with those who are temporarily destitute.]
(1Jn 2:4-11 AFV) The one who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 2:5 On the other hand, if anyone is keeping His Word, truly in this one the love of Almighty is being perfected. By this means we know that we are in Him. 2:6 Anyone who claims to dwell in Him is obligating himself also to walk even as He Himself walked. 2:7 Brethren, I [John]am not writing a new commandment to you but an old commandment, which you had from the beginning; the old commandment is a message that you have heard from the beginning. 2:8 Again, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 2:9 Anyone who claims that he is in the light, but hates his brother, is in the darkness until now. 2:10 The one who loves his brother is dwelling in the light, and there is no cause of offense in him. 2:11 But the one who hates his brother is in darkness, and is walking in darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
[Those who truly KNOW Yahweh and Yahshua are on the path to perfection, they are not yet perfect, they are practicing walking as Yahshua walked, in true love for their fellow man. Yahweh has been showing me, in my life, that there are many layers to forgiveness the same as there is in love. We learn both a step at a time. If we are still stirring the pot of the past somewhere in that pot is unforgiveness, a lack of love. That unforgiveness is indeed darkness.]
(1 Jn 2:12-14 AFV) I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you through His Name. 2:13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you have known Him Who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I am writing to you, little children, because you have known the Father. 2:14 I wrote to you, fathers, because you have known Him Who is from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God is dwelling in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
[Little children have their sins forgiven and they know the Father.
Fathers have known Yahweh.
Young men are strong and Yahweh’s word dwells in them so they have overcame the wicked one.
One day when I was fretting over the lack of evangelists in our midst I saw a field, mowed, with an empty hay wagon on the top of a hill.
My thought was, “Where is the man who was to preach and bring in the people to Yahweh through Yahshua?”
The answer I received was, “It is a young man’s work.”
I decided that meant it was not my job to evangelize, that job was for the young men.
A man who I told my dream to said it meant I was not to worry the work would be finished, but I would not see it.
Either way I would have you pray for all the hundreds of men who have heard this message while they were confined. They know how to stay alive in a hostile environment and they are for the most part, passionate about anything they believe.
They are not the only young men but they are just one group that have heard the message and the call and have not yet answered. All those groups and single people who have been stirred by His word have within the group those who will rise up and serve. Do not be put off by the tattoos and do not advise them to further mutilate themselves by having them surgically removed. They are a testimony of how high from their past the person has risen through the power of Yahweh, Yahshua, and our love. You and I, as individuals, are the first door or window they will need to enter in through in order to gain ears that can hear. Be very careful but not suspicious. Prayer is our best protection against inviting a wolf into the fold, that and the sense to recognize pretense when we see it.
We began this study with a verse that spoke of catching a person’s words true meaning. That is exactly what we need to do among our selves, but most importantly the words of Yahweh and Yahshua should be our life blood, and therefore our daily food. If we have a desire to understand with both mind and heart we will first study to understand the words that are plainly given – those words the young can understand. Once we have a firm foundation in the plain then there is time to search for the deeper meanings. You cannot come to a proper understanding of the deep things of Yahweh if you do not know the plainly/easily understood. If you have a good understanding of truth will you not be walking in all you know?]
Webster - KNOW, v.t. no. pret. knew; pp. Known. ...The radical sense of knowing is generally to take, receive, or hold.]
1. To perceive with certainty; to understand clearly; to have a clear and certain perception of truth, fact, or any thing that actually exists. To know a thing pre-includes all doubt or uncertainty of its existence. We know what we see with our eyes, or perceive by other senses. We know that fire and water are different substances. We know that truth and falsehood express ideas incompatible with each other. We know that a circle is not a square. We do not know the truth of reports, nor can we always know what to believe.
6. In scripture, to have sexual commerce with. Gen 4.
KNOW, v.i. no. 1. To have clear and certain perception; not to be doubtful; sometimes with of.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of Almighty, or whether I speak of myself. John 7.
Strong - Believe H539 A primitive root; properly to build up or support; to foster as a parent or nurse; figuratively to render (or be) firm or faithful, to trust or believe, to be permanent or quiet; morally to be true or certain; once (in Isa_30:21; by interchange for H541) to go to the right hand: - hence assurance, believe, bring up, establish, + fail, be faithful (of long continuance, stedfast, sure, surely, trusty, verified), nurse, (-ing father), (put), trust, turn to the right.
[If we have a proper perception of truth we will believe, build up or support that truth by living that truth. If you tell me the house is about to burst into flames I will leave the building, IF I have learned you always speak truth. If my spiritual house is in danger and you, having had experience in warning and rescuing from false teachings, warn me it is my choice to flee or remain. If you are not fleeing why would I pay any attention to what you are saying. Even as the old saying goes, “don’t do what I do, do what I say”, never got the job done when training a child so speaking truth without living it out will never get the job of evangelizing done. To take hold of those words requires personal commitment in walking them out.]
