[This lesson will look at what Yahshua taught and Torah as presented in scripture not as expressed in the culture of the time.]
(Mar 7:7-9 AFV) But in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men.' 7:8 For leaving the commandment of Almighty, you hold fast the tradition of men, such as the washing of pots and cups; and you practice many other things like this." 7:9 Then He said to them, "Full well do you reject the commandment of Almighty, so that you may observe your own tradition.
[Yahshua gave this warning that they, like us, would be moved to compare what they were currently doing with what Torah taught.]
(Mat 3:13-15 KJV) Then cometh Yahshua from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of Thee, and comest Thou to me? 3:15 And Yahshua answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to forfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
(Psa 40:7-8 KJV) Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my Almighty: yea, thy law is within my heart.
[Psa 40.8 was proven to be true of Yahshua, even unto death.]
(Mat 4:12-17 KJV) Now when Yahshua had heard that John was cast into prison, He departed into Galilee; 4:13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: 4:14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 4:15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. 4:17 From that time Yahshua began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
(1Ki 8:47 KJV) Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
[Yahweh not Yahshua was the first to call the children to repentance and Solomon prayed for future generations as well to repent and return. That is the call today, compare your walk with scripture and bring your walk up to meet Yahweh’s requirements rather than those of the world.]
(Mat 5:3-4 KJV) Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
(Isa 61:1 KJV) The Spirit of the Most High Yahweh is upon me; because Yahweh hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of Yahweh, and the day of vengeance of our Almighty; to comfort all that mourn; 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he might be magnified.
5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
(Isa 65:9-10 KJV) And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of My mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and My servants shall dwell there. 65:10 And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for My people that have sought Me.
[Not a new promise but one the people knew already but needed to be reminded that Yahweh seeks a pure/complete or whole people to fill His kingdom.]
(Mat 5:6 KJV) Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
(Zep 2:3 KJV) Seek ye Yahweh, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of Yahweh's anger.
[To be meek is to willingly yield your strength to the use of the Master.]
(Mat 5:7 KJV) Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
(2Sa 22:26 KJV) With the merciful Thou wilt shew Thyself merciful, and with the upright man Thou wilt shew Thyself upright.
(Num 14:18 KJV) Yahweh is long suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
(Psa 109:1-16 KJV) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hold not Thy peace, O Almighty of my praise; 109:2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. 109:3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. 109:4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer. 109:5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. 109:6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. 109:7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin. 109:8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office. 109:9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. 109:10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places. 109:11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour. 109:12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children. 109:13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out. 109:14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Yahweh; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. 109:15 Let them be before Yahweh continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth. 109:16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
[Yahweh is always merciful and He is our example. Look at what David prayed for those who refuse to show mercy.]
(Mat 5:8 KJV) Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see Almighty.
(Eze 36:23-28 KJV) And I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am Yahweh, saith the Most High Yahweh, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 36:27 And I will put My spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep My judgments, and do them. 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be My people, and I will be your Almighty.
(1Jn 3:1-3 KJV) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of Almighty: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of Almighty, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure.
[To be like Yahshua – is this not what we are striving for? Let us not be satisfied with not breaking the law, but let us seek to live above the law that we never be called unfaithful or that we never brings shame upon the names we adore, Yahweh and Yahshua. Do not let us shame the one who died for us by living carelessly as the world does demanding our rights.]
(Mat 5:9 KJV) Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of Almighty.
(Pro 10:10 Brenton) He that winks with his eyes deceitfully, procures griefs for men; but he that reproves boldly is a peacemaker.
[The only version that uses the word peacemaker in the Old Testament. All others speak of a fool not a peacemaker. To reprove is to correct error. If all can be brought to a point of agreement with Yahweh peace will be found.]
(Mat 5:10-12 KJV) Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
(Deu 30:7 KJV) And Yahweh thy Almighty will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee. 30:8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of Yahweh, and do all His commandments which I command thee this day.
[When things go against us because we have spoken truth, Yahweh’s truth, we can know that the time will come for us to be rewarded for speaking no matter the cost. This also applies to those who do not speak but are living testimonies of the truth of scripture and are called names implying they are putting on airs.]
(Mat 5:13-16 KJV) Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and magnify your Father which is in heaven.
(2Ki 2:21 KJV) And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith Yahweh, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
(Job 24:13 KJV) They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
(Isa 5:20-24 KJV) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! 5:22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: 5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of Yahweh of hosts, and despised the word of the Set-apart One of Israel.
[Yahweh’s word is the light of the world! As salt will heal many wounds and light will chase away darkness so does Yahweh’s word spoken without guile heal what is broken and chase away the darkness from a persons heart and mind. We need to remember or be taught who we really are and what our Father expects from His children. Even as the first five books of scripture give us the basics the rest of scripture is an increase of information about how those basic teachings are walked out by mankind and Yahweh’s responses.]
