New or Renewed

Part 5

May 8, 2021

[This series is not about the acts of Yahshua, but rather how He taught the teachings and instructions of Torah as spelled out in the first five books of scripture and the writings of the generations that came after.]

(Mat 12:1-8 KJV) At that time Yahshua went on the sabbath day through the corn; and His disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. 12:2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto Him, Behold, Thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. 12:3 But He said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; 12:4 How he entered into the house of Almighty, and did eat the shew bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? 12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? 12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. 12:7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. 12:8 For the Son of man is Master even of the sabbath day.

(Deu 23:24-25 KJV) When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel. 23:25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.

(Mic 6:6-8 KJV) Wherewith shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the high Almighty? shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 6:7 Will Yahweh be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Yahweh require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy Almighty?

[ Yahweh’s teachings and instructions are a safe guard against many evils, selfishness being a big evil. An other evil is policing the adherence of others rather than your own. We are to live in a manner of service rather than of being served. What we do for each other is what we are doing for Yahweh. Because the Pharisees were jealous of Yahshua they watched to find any fault they could accuse Him of, let us not be that kind of people.]

(Mat 12:31-32 KJV) Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Set-apart Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men. 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Set-apart Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

blasphemy: Blasphemy, βλασφημια [G988], either from βλαπειν [G984], την φημην, to hurt, or blast the reputation, or from βαλλειν [G906], ταις φημαις, to smite with words, or reports, when applied to men denotes injurious speaking, or calumny[malicious slander], and when used in reference to Almighty signifies speaking impiously of his nature, attributes, and works. TSK Cross Reference

(Isa 55:7 KJV) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto Yahweh, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our Almighty, for He will abundantly pardon.

[Mat 12.31 is a blessing and a warning. The blessing? ALL SIN CAN BE FORGIVEN, the warning? EXCEPT THE SIN OF LYING ABOUT THE SET-APART SPIRIT. Yahweh is always about mercy and after He shows mercy He showers us with His grace.]

(Mat 15:1-3 KJV) Then came to Yahshua scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 15:3 But He answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of Almighty by your tradition?

From TSK cross reference: tradition: Tradition, in Latin traditio from trado I deliver, hand down, exactly agreeing with the original παραδοσις [G3862], from παραδιδωμι [G3860], I deliver, transmit. Among the Jews it signifies what is called oral law, which they say has been successively handed down from Moses, through every generation, to Judah the Holy, who compiled and digested it into the Mishneh, to explain which the two Gemaras, or Talmuds, called the Jerusalem and Babylonish, were composed. Of the estimation in which these were held by the Jews, the following may serve as an example: "The words of the Scribes are lovely beyond the words of the law, for the words of the law are weighty and light, but the words of the Scribes are all weighty."

(Deu 12:29-32 KJV) When Yahweh thy Almighty shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. 12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto Yahweh thy Almighty: for every abomination to Yahweh, which He hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

(Jos 1:7-9 KJV) Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses My servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for Yahweh thy Almighty is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

[Tradition is the stuff that makes the commanded times of rest and gathering together fun, but they add to and take away from Yahweh’s clear commands. Are they forbidden? I believe they are if they change the way Yahweh said those times were to be observed. The fun becomes the stuff of importance and the command becomes duty done, maybe.]

(Mat 15:10-20 KJV) And He called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. 15:12 Then came His disciples, and said unto Him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 15:13 But He answered and said, Every plant, which My heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. 15:14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. 15:15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. 15:16 And Yahshua said, Are ye also yet without understanding? 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

[These verses do not speak of diet, but of the rule to wash your hands and to do it a certain way. Still there are those who would make this about the food laws and claim they apply to salvation. The keeping or refusing to keep these rules speaks to a persons heart relationship with Yahweh.]

(Lev 20:24-26 KJV) But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am Yahweh your Almighty, which have separated you from other people. 20:25 Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. 20:26 And ye shall be set-apart unto me: for I Yahweh am set-apart, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

[Yahweh’s people are to be separate from the world and diet was one of the means Yahweh used to make a sharp separation between those who choose to walk with Him and all others. Yahweh was present in the camp so all must be pure or be destroyed by His presence. Even what was in their stomachs would cause their destruction. It will be the same when Yahshua returns for He will also be undefiled, pure and all evil will die in His presence.

The question of offending the pharisees is met with the admonition to leave them alone. They had made their choice, and those who follow them have also made their choice. No trying to change what they believe or practice for it is a waste of time. If one is interested in changing they will approach you as Nicodemus did Yahshua.]

(Joh 3:1-2 KJV) There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 3:2 The same came to Yahshua by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from Almighty: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except Almighty be with him.

(Pro 15:28 KJV) The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

[This is what Yahshua was referencing, The mouth and what comes out of it, not what goes into it. If evil comes out then the heart is evil, not just ignorant, but intent on evil.]

(Mat 19:1-8 KJV) And it came to pass, that when Yahshua had finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; 19:2 And great multitudes followed Him; and He healed them there. 19:3 The Pharisees also came unto Him, tempting Him, and saying unto Him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 19:4 And He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore Almighty hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 19:7 They say unto Him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

(Gen 2:22-24 KJV) And the rib, which Yahweh Almighty had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man. 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Cleave H1692 A primitive root; properly to impinge, that is, cling or adhere; figuratively to catch by pursuit: - abide, fast, cleave (fast together), follow close (hard, after), be joined (together), keep (fast), overtake, pursue hard, stick, take.

[Man or woman, divorce is not of Yahweh, but of man’s hard hearts. Normally there has been a lot of wounding going on for a divorce to be considered. When considering marriage time should be invested in getting to really know each other, both their good points and their bad. Sometimes the good you admire before marriage becomes a bone of contention later for it takes time and resources. Take time to consider before you tie yourselves together if the knot is going to sit easy or not.]

(Mal 2:14-16 KJV) Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because Yahweh hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. 2:15 And did not He make one? Yet had He the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That He might seek a righteous seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. 2:16 For Yahweh, the Almighty of Israel, saith that He hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith Yahweh of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

[Righteous seed can hardly be expected to come to its full potential in a household of distrust and disagreement. Families are to be formed and Yahweh and His Torah lived out daily that the seed that comes forth will be righteous seed. Seed that will be a ‘good and faithful servant’.]

(Ezr 10:2-3 KJV) And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our Almighty, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing. 10:3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our Almighty to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our Almighty; and let it be done according to the law.

(Deu 24:1-4 KJV) When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. 24:2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife. 24:3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; 24:4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before Yahweh: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which Yahweh thy Almighty giveth thee for an inheritance.

[When we have sex it changes our genetic code. Thus each partner leaves behind some DNA that can effect future generations and changes can come forth in future generations unlike the rest of the family.]

(Deu 7:1-4 KJV) When Yahweh thy Almighty shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; 7:2 And when Yahweh thy Almighty shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: 7:3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. 7:4 For they will turn away thy son from following Me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of Yahweh be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.

[Deu. 24 gives the rule for divorce and remarriage among believers, and Deu. 7 gives the reason forbidding marriage to non-believers. Should those who strive to live in obedience to Torah be looking for mates among Christians who refuse Torah as their rule for life? What about among those who are in outright rebellion and/or denial of Yah’s existence?]

(1Co 7:10-16 KJV) And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Master, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 7:11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 7:12 But to the rest speak I, not the Master: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they set-apart. 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but Almighty hath called us to peace. 7:16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

[I have read of cases where the unbeliever has come to belief because of the example of the spouse. This has most often happened where both were unbelievers to begin with. Once the vows have been spoken they are binding.

Children brought up without clear boundaries have no anchor, no sure path to follow. If you love your children and you believe you are on the right path why would you not teach them how to find and follow that same path. This should be the hearts desire, to see our children walking straight into the arms of Yahweh. If the husband and wife cannot agree how can a righteous seed come from that household?

In this country our children come under the instruction of the world at 4 and 5 years of age, their most tender years when they desire to please those they are attached to. I remember how easy it was to love my kind teachers and want to be just like them. When a teachers morals are no longer a parents legal concern the parents have no say about what happens in or out of the classroom. The nation of Israel was the first to require and supply the means for every child to learn to read so they could read scripture for themselves. Our homes need to be homes where all are not only aware of the scriptures but well acquainted with them on a personal level. Perhaps then the youth and their elders will stop and consider before they enter into covenant relationships with unbelievers.]
