[As I was reading the Psalms the phrase, ‘Because they rebelled’

grabbed my attention. How many times had they rebelled and been spared? Was it now time for chastisement?]

(Num 26:7-8 AFV) These are the families of the Reubenites. And their numbered ones were forty-three thousand, seven hundred and thirty.26:8 And the son of Pallu was Eliab. 26:9 And the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, and Dathan and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram who were famous in the congregation, who fought against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they fought against Yahweh. 26:10 And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, when the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men. And they became a sign. 26:11 However the sons of Korah did not die.

[When I looked for other passages with the same phrase in the KJV I only found Psa. 107.11 so looked at all the other versions I have and found a total of nine passages. The next thought was to see what one version used in place of ‘because they rebelled’. So here we have the first and instead of rebelled we have ‘they fought against’. Certainly that is rebellion. As usual the rebellion came about because of jealousy. When we are jealous [envious] we are fighting against Yahweh. Is it not His right to bless who He will bless and to curse who He will curse?]

Hos 8:1-14 & 16 BBE  Put the horn to your mouth. He comes like an eagle against the house of the Most High; because they have gone against My agreement, they have not kept My law. 8:2 They will send up to Me a cry for help: We, Israel, have knowledge of you, O Almighty of Israel. 8.3 Israel has given up what is good; his haters will go after him.  8:4 They have put up kings, but not by Me; they have made princes, but I had no knowledge of it; they have made images of silver and gold, so that they may be cut off.  8:5  I will have nothing to do with your young ox, O Samaria; My wrath is burning against them; how long will it be before the children of Israel make themselves clean?  8:6 The workman made it, it is no god; the ox of Samaria will be broken into bits. 8:7 For they have been planting the wind, and their fruit will be the storm; his grain has no stem, it will give no meal, and if it does, a strange nation will take it. 8:8  Israel has come to destruction; now they are among the nations like a cup in which there is no pleasure. 8:9 For they have gone up to Assyria like an ass going by himself; Ephraim has given money to get lovers. 8:10 But though they give money to the nations for help, still I will send them in all directions; and in a short time they will be without a king and rulers. 8:11 Because Ephraim has been increasing altars for sin, altars have become a cause of sin to him. 8:12 Though I put My law in writing for him in ten thousand rules, they are to him as a strange thing. 8:13 He gives the offerings of his lovers, and takes the flesh for food; but the Most High has no pleasure in them; now He will keep in mind their evil-doing and give them the punishment of their sins; they will go back to Egypt.  8:14  For Israel has no memory of his Maker, and has put up the houses of kings; and Judah has made great the number of his walled towns. But I will send a fire on his towns and put an end to his great houses….13:16 Samaria shall be desolate, for she has rebelled against her Almighty. They shall fall by the sword, their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women shall be ripped up.

[The USA meets all the criteria for a nation in rebellion against Yahweh. Verse 12 speaks of the availability of Yahweh’s word to all and the peoples rejection of it. We also have rebelled against Yahweh. We had the land everyone wanted to live in, lots of land that individuals could own in their own right. Fruitful valleys and plains. Separation from the old nations so we could choose our own way, and look what we have done with what we have inherited from our forefathers who knew Yahweh. Each generation has chosen it deception to follow until that is about all that is left. A false, deceptive form of worship that denies Yahweh His rightful place as a true father who rules His house, rather than the house being ruled by the children.]

(Psa 5:9 -13TLV) Lead me, Yahweh, in Your righteousness, because of my enemies. Make Your path straight before me. 5:10 For nothing upright is in their mouth. Inside them is a ruin—their throat an open grave. They flatter with their tongue. 5:11 Declare them guilty, O Almighty! Let them fall by their own schemes. Banish them because of their many transgressions—for they have rebelled against You. 5:12 But let all who take refuge in You rejoice! Let them always shout for joy! You will shelter them and they exult—those who love Your Name. 5:13 For You bless the righteous, Yahweh. You surround him with favor as a shield.

[No matter how wicked the nation Yahweh will always be with those who live righteously before Him. This does not mean the righteous will not suffer, but as the word says, Yahweh will be with them to encourage and uplift their hearts.]

(Psa 107:8-13 TS2009) Let them give thanks to Yahweh for His loving-commitment, And His wonders to the children of men! 107:9 For He has satisfied a longing being, And has filled the hungry being with goodness. 107:10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons, 107:11 Because they rebelled against the words of Almighty, And despised the counsel of the Most High. 107:12 And He humbled their heart by toil; They stumbled, and there was no one to help.107:13 And they cried out to Yahweh in their distress, And He saved them out of their troubles.

[We should thank Yahweh, all day long, for His great gifts to us, every day. We have trouble because we live in a sinful world and are sometimes sinful ourselves. It is true this land has rebelled against the counsel of the Most High.]

(Isa 1:1-4 Webster) The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for Yahweh hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me. 1:3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, My people doth not consider. 1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evil-doers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken Yahweh, they have provoked the Set-apart One of Israel to anger, they are gone away backward.

[Does verse 4 speak of the adults as children since we are all Yahweh’s children? Or does it speak of the young that even in their youth they corrupt their peers. Certainly we inherited those evils that came before us and then we added to them, usually to give ‘freedom of choice’, and we chose evil over righteousness. Those are the laws that most go against Yahweh for He has given each of us the freedom to choose Him and His way, which are inseparable, or to chose the world and leave Him behind.]

(Isa 24:5 YLT) And the land hath been defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed laws, They have changed a statute, They have made void a covenant age-during.

(Jer 4:16-18 YLT) Make ye mention to the nations, Lo, sound ye to Jerusalem: 'Besiegers are coming from the land afar off, And they give forth against cities of Judah their voice. 4:17 As the keepers of a field They have been against her round about, For with Me she hath been rebellious, An affirmation of Yahweh.' 4:18 Thy way and thy doings have done these to thee, This is thy vexation, for it is bitter, For it hath struck unto thy heart.

[Because we have transgressed, changed, voided a law and our covenant with Yahweh from old we are under judgment. Yahweh Himself testifies against us.]

(Eze 5:5-8 AFV) Thus says Most High Yahweh, 'This is Jerusalem. I have set it in the midst of the nations. 5:6 And she has rebelled against My ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against My statutes more than the countries that are all around her; for they have rejected My judgments and My laws; they have not walked in them.' 5:7 Therefore thus says Most High Yahweh, 'Because you have multiplied disobedience more than the nations that are all around you, and have not walked in My laws, neither have kept My judgments, nor have done according to the judgments of the nations all around you; 5:8 Therefore thus says Most High Yahweh; 'Behold, I, even I, am against you, and will carry out judgments in the sight of the nations.

[Rejected, rebelled, both bring the same result – disobedience.]

(Eze 39:23-24 AFV) And the nations shall know that the house of Israel was exiled for their iniquity. Because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore I hid My face from them and gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword. 39:24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I have done to them, and hid My face from them.

[This country has not fallen to the sword, yet. We have fallen before our enemies in the economical world. Our seaports have been sold to those that hate us. Vast portions of land have also been sold to other nations where that nations rule supersede the laws of our land. Why is this happening to us? Because we have been unfaithful and rebelled against our Creator who is the giver of all good things. We are reaping what we have sown. Our children rebel before they are old enough to go outside by themselves, and then we put them under the authority of the education system which had removed all biblical influence from the classroom. The country may be under judgment but Yahweh also sees those who walk in obedience and rewards them as it pleases Him.]

(Isa 43:1-5 AFV) But now thus says Yahweh Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed you, O Israel; "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; nor shall the flame kindle on you, 43:3 For I am Yahweh your Almighty, the Set-apart One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for you. 43:4 Since you are precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. 43:5 Fear not; for I am with you. I will bring your seed from the east, and gather you from the west.

(Jer 30:18-31.1 AFV) Thus says Yahweh, 'Behold, I turn back the captivity of Jacob's tents, and will have mercy on his dwelling places. And the city shall be built on her ruins, and the palace shall remain in its own place. 30:19 And out of them shall come thanksgiving, and the voice of those who rejoice. And I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also honor them, and they shall not be disdained. 30:20 Also their children shall be as they were before, and their congregation shall be established before Me, and I will punish all who oppress them. 30:21 And their ruler shall be of themselves, and their governor shall come from among them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach Me. For who is this who pledged his heart to come near to Me?' says Yahweh. 30:22 'And you shall be My people, and I will be your Almighty.' " 30:23 Behold, the whirlwind of Yahweh’s wrath goes forth, a sweeping whirlwind; it shall whirl on the head of the wicked. 30:24 The fierce anger of Yahweh shall not return until He has done it, and until He has fulfilled the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it. 31:1 "At that time," says Yahweh, "I will be the Almighty of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people."

[Our nation is under judgment, but we as individual can repent and ask for mercy and refuse to disobey Yahweh. Verse 24 states the fact that hindsight is still 20/20 and looking back we will see our errors. Seeing our errors will we correct them?]

(Joh 15:6-13 AFV) If anyone does not dwell in Me, he is cast out as a branch, and is dried up; and men gather them and cast them into a fire, and they are burned. 15:7 If you dwell in Me, and My words dwell in you, you shall ask whatever you desire, and it shall come to pass for you. 15:8 In this is My Father magnified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be My disciples. 15:9 As the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; live in My love. 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you shall live in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and live in His love. 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, in order that My joy may dwell in you, and that your joy may be full. 15:12 This is My commandment: that you love one another, as I have loved you. 15:13 No one has greater love than this: that one lay down his life for his friends.

[I would not leave this lesson without reminding us of Yahweh and Yahshua’s great love for His obedient children. We are His obedient children so these promises are for us. There will come a time when we will suffer great persecution for our obedience, but there will also come a time for a great home coming. In the mean time we are to love each other as Yahshua loves us. As for laying down our lives for each other: If we are not practicing now by laying down our rights to help raise up our brothers and sister how will we develop the love and faith it will take to lay down our lives? What do we need to practice now? Generosity, willingness to be inconvenienced to meet the needs of others, eyes that see and eyes that hear need without having it pointed out. Let us not make beggars of each other but let us look for opportunities to serve each other as a way of life.]

(Joh 13:34-35 AFV) A new commandment I give to you: that you love one another in the same way that I have loved you, that is how you are to love one another. 13:35 By this shall everyone know that you are My disciples—if you love one another."

[Let us live as we are commanded in love of each other and we will be assured of our testimony of Yahweh and Yahshua’s great love for each of us will be a true representation.]
