[Scripture is good at setting forth the true reasons for things that happen, both positive and negative.]
(Gen 22:15-18 ISV) The angel of Yahweh called to Abraham a second time from heaven 22:16 and said, "I have taken an oath to swear by Myself," declares Yahweh, "that since you have carried this out and have not withheld your only unique son, 22:17 I will certainly bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in heaven and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the gates of their enemies. 22:18 Furthermore, through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my command."
[How often do we consider the effects and affects our decisions will have on future generations? We are still receiving blessings from this promise. Note that the son was unique, one of a kind. This is true of all children when they are born. What they become is a mixture of childhood experiences and their own choices. It was the same with each of us, we are what we are as a result of our own past. But praise Yahweh no matter what we have done, or become, we still have the potential to become even more pleasing to Yahweh, and a better example of Yahshua's spirit.]
(Gen 26:2-5 DRB) And the Most High appeared to him, and said: Go not down into Egypt, but stay in the land that I shall tell thee. 26:3 And sojourn in it, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee: for to thee and to thy seed I will give all these countries, to fulfill the oath which I swore to Abraham thy father. 26:4 And I will multiply thy seed like the stars of heaven: and I will give to thy posterity all these countries: and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. 26:5 Because Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My precepts and commandments, and observed My ceremonies and laws.
[Issac received reinforcement of his trust in Yahweh's promise, and like his father before him he obeyed. Sometimes our parents are not good examples and those blessed to hear of Yahweh and Yahshua have a clear choice of who to follow. But – not all hear the good news with open ears and not all have the opportunity to hear. Because Yahweh is sovereign over all even they will receive examples of righteousness throughout their lives as we all do. Scripture promises that in the end all will be without excuse for disobedience for at sometime Yahweh will make His presence known to them if they will receive it.]
(Jos 5:4-7 TLV) Now this is the reason why Joshua circumcised: all the people that came out of Egypt who were males—all the men of war—had died in the wilderness along the way after they came out of Egypt.5:5 Though all the people that came out were circumcised, none of the people who were born in the wilderness along the way as they came out of Egypt had been circumcised. 5:6 For Bnei-Yisrael walked 40 years in the wilderness, until all the nation’s men of war who came out of Egypt died out, because they had not listened to the voice of Yahweh. To them Yahweh had sworn that He would never let them see the land which Yahweh had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey. 5:7 But He raised up their children in their place. Joshua circumcised them, for they were uncircumcised, since they had not been circumcised along the way.
[Obeyed, listened, they are the same for if we hear clearly we will obey for we will trust that voice. Perhaps that voice is not familiar to you, if you will study the scriptures and believe they are of and from Him, you will come to recognize that voice for it will agree with scriptures. My first years were without spiritual training, but when I was allowed to begin to chose for myself, I, not my parents, became accountable for what I choose to put in my mind.]
(1Sa 15:13-25 TLV) Now when Samuel reached Saul, Saul said to him, “Blessed are you of Yahweh! I have carried out Yahweh’s command.” 15:14 But Samuel said, “Then what is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen that I hear?” 15:15 “They brought them from the Amalekites,” Saul replied, “for the people spared the best of the sheep and oxen to sacrifice to Yahweh your Almighty—but the rest we have utterly destroyed.” 15:16 “Stop!” Samuel said to Saul. “Let me tell you what Yahweh said to me last night.” “Say on,” he said. 15:17 Then Samuel said, “Isn’t it true, though you were insignificant in your own eyes, that you were made head of the tribes of Israel? Yahweh anointed you king over Israel! 15:18 Then Yahweh sent you on a mission and said: ‘Go and utterly destroy the Amalekites, the sinners, and wage war against them until you annihilate them.’ 15:19 Why then did you not obey the voice of Yahweh, but rushed greedily onto the spoil—doing what was evil in Yahweh’s eyes?” 15:20 “But I did obey the voice of Yahweh,” Saul said to Samuel. “I went on the mission on which Yahweh sent me, and brought back Agag the king of Amalek—and utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
15:21 But the people took some of the spoil, sheep and oxen—the best of what was under the ban of destruction—to sacrifice to Yahweh your God in Gilgal.”15:22 Samuel said: “Does Yahweh delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Yahweh? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, to pay heed than the fat of rams. 15:23 For rebellion is like the sin of divination and stubbornness is like iniquity and idolatry. Since you have rejected Yahweh’s word, He has also rejected you as king.” 15:24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned! For I have transgressed against the word of Yahweh and your words—because I feared the people and listened to their voice. 15:25 So now, please pardon my sin and return with me, that I may worship Yahweh.”
[Saul was told to utterly destroy and yet he kept some of the spoils and made excuses for his disobedience, laying the blame on those under his rule and claiming he feared them. This was the same excuse Aaron used for the golden calf. It is the same excuse used when wrong is done to one class by another class of people, because the people wanted it so. We as a people of this nation, lo the entire world will have much to answer for at the judgment. It will be then as it was with Saul, Since you have rejected Yahweh’s word, He has also rejected you.
He has sent preachers, teachers, the printing press, the internet, etc. so we can access the scriptures in most languages. We also have audio for those who cannot read.
Still there are those who refuse to open His Word where instructions in right living abound.
There are those who scoff at Him and His Son and His Spirit and His Word as a means to a better life.
Saul had been instructed from childhood up, but pride got in his heart and he put his understanding before a plain command from Yahweh through Samuel.
Our leaders are human and as such will err. If they are open to correction and repent they are still trustworthy. It is those who refuse correction that are unworthy just as Saul was.]
(Jer 35:14-19 TLV) “The words of Jonadab son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are observed, and to this day they drink none, for they listen to their father’s commandment. Yet I have spoken to you, early and often, and you have not obeyed Me. 35:15 “I have sent also to you all My servants the prophets, sending them early and often, saying: ‘Return you now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and you will dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to Me. 35:16 For the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab have kept the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people have not obeyed Me.’”
35:17 Therefore thus says Yahweh Elohei-Tzva’ot, the Almighty of Israel: “I am about to bring on Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them, because I spoke to them but they have not heard, and I have called to them but they have not answered.” 35:18 Now Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, thus says Yahweh-Tzva’ot, the Almighty of Israel: “Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you,” 35:19 therefore thus says Yahweh-Tzva’ot, the Almighty of Israel: “There will never be cut off for Jonadab son of Rechab a man to stand before Me forever.”
[This family is singled out for their obedience to their earthly father. Generally our families of origin are where we first learn to heed. Hear and obey. How much harder to come to adulthood without having received the training or having received it to have set it aside.
Israel is rebuked for the difference between them and this family. Jonadab's family learned well the lessons taught at home and they carried them into their adult lives and taught them to their own families. This is apparent in verse 19 for the promise of standing before Yahweh can only be for those walking in obedience to His Words!]
(Eze 25:6-7 TLV) For thus says Yahweh Almighty: “Because you have clapped your hands, stomped your feet and rejoiced with all the disdain of your soul against the land of Israel, 25:7 therefore behold, I will stretch out My hand over you. I will deliver you as plunder for the nations. I will cut you off from the people. I will cause you to perish from among the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”
(Eze 21:29-30 TLV) Therefore thus says Yahweh Almighty: “Because you have caused your iniquity to be remembered, by exposing your transgressions, so that your sins appear in all your deeds—because you have come to remembrance, you will be seized with the hand. [not as Lot to be saved] 21:30 So you, wicked one, prince of Israel, the day has come to be slain, the time of final punishment.”
(Mal 2:2 TLV) If you will not listen, and if you will not take to heart to give honor to My Name”—says Yahweh-Tzva’ot—“then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, indeed I have cursed them, because you did not take it to heart.
[Read the above in context and you will see the list of sins held dear by Israel. It is because of those un-repented sins Israel suffers. It is the same today, Yahweh does not change, nor do His true teachings. They are not driven by circumstances nor time. Still there are many scriptures that hold promise because you did trust in Him.]
(Gen 22:16-17 TLV) and said, “By myself I swear—it is a declaration of Yahweh—because you have done this thing, and you did not withhold your son, your only son, 22:17 I will richly bless you and bountifully multiply your seed like the stars of heaven, and like the sand that is on the seashore, and your seed will possess the gate of his enemies.
[We have all been blessed by this one man's obedience. We have no way of knowing what Yahweh has for us if we live obedient, loving lives; allowing Him to have His way in our hearts and minds. Nor can we discount or know the end results of our own actions.]
(Mar 12:24 TLV) Yahshua said to them, “Isn’t this the reason you’ve gone astray, because you don’t understand the Scriptures or the power of Almighty?
(Joh 5:38-40 TLV) Nor do you have His Word living in you, because you do not trust the One He sent. 5:39 You search the Scriptures because you suppose that in them you have eternal life. It is these that testify about Me. 5:40 Yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life!
(Rev 3:16 TLV) So because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spew you out of My mouth.
[These are the main reasons we stumble and get lost:
You do not understand Yahweh and His teachings, nor do you trust His power to be enough.
It is not strange, but we have extreme trust issues. Education has worked hard to wipe out the knowledge of Yahweh and His Son Yahshua. They have also done all they can do to twist His words to negate their power.
Our world has had various teachings that set people at odds with His teachings so the emotions tells us He is not fair. If you obey you win, if you disobey you lose unless you repent. What could be fairer since all good things come from Yahweh, He has earned the right to demand obedience if you want to share in those good things.]
