February 29, 2020
[I am in 1 Chronicles 23 and was so sure I had just written on what was acceptable to change and what was not. Must have been written in my book for I cannot find it. So we have it today. What commandments have been changed, or done away with, or neglected?]
(1Ch 23:24-26 KJV) These were the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; even the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of Yahweh, from the age of twenty years and upward. 23:25 For David said, Yahweh Almighty of Israel hath given rest unto His people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever: 23:26 And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof. [see also NU 7.9]
[The tabernacle came to rest in Jerusalem and was no longer carried from the city, therefore the need for porters no longer existed, yet they were still dedicated as servants of the priesthood.]
(1Ch 23:27-32 KJV) For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above: 23:28 Because their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Yahweh, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all set-apart things, and the work of the service of the house of Almighty; 23:29 Both for the shew bread, and for the fine flour for meat offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size; 23:30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise at even; 23:31 And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto Yahweh in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before Yahweh: 23:32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the set-apart place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of Yahweh.
[None of their duties changed except the transportation of the Tabernacle, which has been assigned a permanent resting place in Jerusalem. With the building of the temple those duties would remain the same – just the physical location changed.
These changes were granted by Yahweh when David asked to be granted the privilege of building a temple for Yahweh. Location, not form or substance changed.]
(Lev 23:1-2 KJV) And YAHWEH spake unto Moses, saying, 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yahweh, which ye shall proclaim to be set-apart convocations, even these are My feasts.
(Lev 23:44 KJV) And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of Yahweh.
[Yahweh is plainly the one speaking and twice He states the following feasts are His Feasts, so He gets to set the rules regarding them. Not us or any custom of man, or man's wisdom, Just Yahweh's commandments to us.
The feast of the New Moon is not included, but it is mentioned many times and the Jews readily admit it was their choice to set it aside and since they were the early translators of scriptures it has been left out except in a few places where the sacrifices for the day are given and in Nehemiah. No one has been able to show me scriptures where Yahweh says, “No longer keep the following feasts, or I have abolished this feast”, not even for the New Moon feasts for there are several statements that declare its existence. The following texts deal with the New Moon and the Sabbath being His set-apart times. 2Ki 4.23, Isa. 66.23, Eze. 46.1 and Amos 8.5.
These speak strictly to the New Moon and I have not included those that command the priesthood to offer special sacrifices on that day. 1 Sam. 20.5-24, Ps. 81.3, Isa. 66.23 and Eze. 46.1 and 6.
(Deu 17:6 KJV) At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
[If a man cannot be put to death unless at least two men testify against him, how much more should the plain words of scriptures stand when there are multiple scriptures to support it!
Few of us grew up with a clear understanding of Torah in our households let alone as the daily teaching and example. Still the majority were taught to obey persons of authority, or else. I think this early indoctrination is still influencing many of us. The tendency is to listen to the teacher closer than the plain meaning of scriptures. Only Yahweh's spirit and the Comforter can lead us into all truth. You can know and trust that voice because it always agrees with scriptures.]
(Exo 12:1-14 KJV) And Yahweh spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 12:4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 12:9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. 12:10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Yahweh's passover. 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am Yahweh. 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. 12:14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to Yahweh throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
[This is the first passover, not a memorial, and we will look at how we are to keep the memorial in a minute. But please note it was to be kept as long as we exist – for ever. Yahshua stated He would keep it with us. Mat 26.9]
(Luk 22:14-16 KJV) And when the hour was come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. 22:15 And He said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of Almighty.
[The for ever spoken of in Exo. 12.14 is explained in Lu 22.16 – in the kingdom. In the kingdom we will share it with Him as His apostles did here on earth, and in like manner as they did. If we continually obey there are blessings in store, especially if we do it joyfully, not as a duty given grudgingly.]
(Deu 16:1-8 KJV) Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto Yahweh thy Almighty: for in the month of Abib Yahweh thy Almighty brought thee forth out of Egypt by night, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Yahweh shall choose to place His name there. 16:3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life. 16:4 And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning. 16:5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which Yahweh thy Almighty giveth thee: 16:6 But at the place which Yahweh thy Almighty shall choose to place His name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt. 16:7 And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which Yahweh thy Almighty shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents. 16:8 Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yahweh thy Almighty: thou shalt do no work therein.
[The date is the same, but our parts are changed, changed by Yahweh not man! In Exodus it was a household feast, in Deuteronomy it is a communal feast to be kept at a place where Yahweh has placed His name. In scriptures that is at the temple in Jerusalem. Today I believe that is any gathering place that regularly is known by Yahweh's name. You may have noticed the change to our letterhead, it now has an additional line, Yahweh's Assembly. We can claim this because this is the core place of our worship and His name has been placed and venerated here for years and is known in the area by other Sabbath keepers, and both Christian and heathen alike.
We are no longer required to apply the blood of a lamb for our lamb is Yahshua.
We are not required to take what we can carry and be ready to leave this place forever, at a moments notice.
Nor are we to ask our neighbors to finance our travel expenses to attend the feast.
Nor will the death angel pass over the land to slay the first born of all who refuse to obey.
Since the destruction of the temple we must not sacrifice except the sacrifice of praise on our lips, for sacrifice is forbidden any place other than the temple. Can you eat lamb or goat? Yes, but not slaughtered as a sacrifice.]
(Deu 26:1-11 KJV) And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which Yahweh thy Almighty giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein; 26:2 That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that Yahweh thy Almighty giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which Yahweh thy Almighty shall choose to place His name there. 26:3 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto Yahweh thy Almighty, that I am come unto the country which Yahweh sware unto our fathers for to give us. 26:4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of Yahweh thy Almighty. 26:5 And thou shalt speak and say before Yahweh thy Almighty, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous: 26:6 And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage: 26:7 And when we cried unto Yahweh Almighty of our fathers, Yahweh heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression: 26:8 And Yahweh brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders: 26:9 And He hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey. 26:10 And now, behold, I have brought the first fruits of the land, which Thou, O Yahweh, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before Yahweh thy Almighty, and worship before Yahweh thy Almighty: 26:11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which Yahweh thy Almighty hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.
[Without a temple and a working priesthood there is no legal place to do this. I know church's claim Malachi as their right to the tithe, but are they really entitled?
Scripture says to bring the tithe into His storehouse, not the corporations. The tithe was also directed for the poor, widows, fatherless, and those that labor for Yahweh [the laborer is worthy to receive a worthy potion, not everything] The stored tithe that could not be brought in was to be distributed at home. Still it is not fitting for one person or group of persons to live high on what those poorer give as an offering to Yahweh and His work. Do all who proclaim deserve to receive, ask Yahweh and look at their lives before you decide. Look around you at your households, kin, and neighbors as well. Those that live righteously deserve our support and a hand up from time to time. Are we to aid the righteous first? Let Yahweh be your guide not man in every case.
Yahshua lived in the economy of the poorest, without a place to lay His head. The apostles worked as they served and thus it was common when I was young. A congregation gave what it could, but the preacher still had to labor to some extent for a living wage, as his duties allowed, but not before his duties to the flock. There is no command to stop paying tithe, but since there is no temple we need to distribute our tithe in the manner in which Yahweh commanded.]
(Deu 14:28-29 KJV) At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: 14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yahweh thy Almighty may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
[Even when there was a central place of worship Yahweh made provision for the tithe to be distributed at the local level. Note it was not the priesthood, but the individual who distributes, hopefully as Yahweh commands. They were farmers and their tithe was paid on the increase of the herd and field, and it was paid in kind. 10% of the new lambs, etc. So seems like a feast is called for, or maybe a ewe to start a herd of their own? We are called to bless others as we are blessed and in doing so we increase our blessings both in quantity and quality. Do not let others who cannot see as Yahweh does make you feel less spiritually, or physically, blessed for those spiritual blessings are the dearest, most lasting gifts.]
(Exo 23:14-17 KJV) Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto Me in the year. 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) 23:16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field. 23:17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Most High Yahweh.
[We have the same commandments given in Deuteronomy 16.16. Nowhere is there a time limit set for their ceasing. As with all our choices it is up to us what we do, but in all things we are called to be circumspect.]
Circumspect H8104 A primitive root; properly to hedge about (as with thorns), that is, guard; generally to protect, attend to, etc.: - beware, be circumspect, take heed (to self), keep (-er, self), mark, look narrowly, observe, preserve, regard, reserve, save (self), sure, (that lay) wait (for), watch (-man).
Total KJV occurrences: 468
(Exo 23:13 KJV) And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
[An argumentative person might look at this verse and claim that the commandments that follow do not need to be guarded. These commandments were given them when they first came into the land forty years ago, so yes, they are included. It was not just what He said that day, but all He speaks. It is not my place to tell you do this, don't do that. But it is my place to point you to the appropriate scriptures so you can make an informed choice. Do you have to agree with me on all things? No!!! and if you join the study group you will find that in some teachings I am in the minority. Still we are traveling together toward the kingdom and all will be made clear in the end.]
(Isa 45:22-25 KJV) Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am Almighty, and there is none else. 45:23 I have sworn by Myself, the word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 45:24 Surely, shall one say, in Yahweh have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. 45:25 In Yahweh shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall honor.
[Look unto Me!!! Not at anybody or anything else.” I AM ALMIGHTY there is none else! What I say shall come to pass in spite of the desires of any others who think to displace Me!” To the man who claims the righteousness of Yahweh dwelling in him and lives that life before others, Who rightly attributes any goodness in himself to the indwelling of Yahweh, that man's life will be blessed so that others will be drawn to him to learn where the power to live such a life comes from. Yahweh promises such a person that his enemies will be made ashamed! This is the promise to all the seed of Israel and those who choose to join them. Yahweh always made a way for those outside Israel to join by giving their allegiance to Him.]
(Isa 55:6 KJV) Seek ye Yahweh while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near:
[Today! I say Today He is near and can be found by any who call upon Him! Will the day come when He will distance Himself? That day is upon this nation NOW! This is an individual call not a national call, without the believing, openly practicing belief a national call will not be heard. Where will they look for teachers and leaders if we are hiding partly or wholly. If we are compromising we are not walking in obedience! We cannot be the man/that person spoken of in Isiah 45.24 if we are not walking in open loving obedience.]
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto Yahweh, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our Almighty, for He will abundantly pardon.
[Why would Yahweh do this not just once, but repeatedly?]
Isa 55:8-11 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith Yahweh. 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 55:11 So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
[Today we are none of us able, nor will we ever be able to understand fully all that Yahweh is! But one day we will be granted the privilege of setting at His feet, in fact. To receive any part of that relationship in this life we need to fully recognize what we can see and know of Him. He is not permissive, nor is He passive! He will cause His words to bring forth fruit, both in the willing and unwilling. Do not tell me this is the relationship you are actively seeking if you are still looking for vengeance on those who have, who will in the future, and may be doing now against you, and others who are or have traveled that pain filled life. We all still have a firmly placed right of choice, we choose how obedient we are willing to walk. It is our choice no matter the circumstances.]
Isa 55:12-13 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 55:13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to Yahweh for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
[How much of this are you willing to accept?]
(Rom 1:18 KJV) For the wrath of Almighty is revealed from heaven against all wickedness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
[Ungodliness - showing they are not at one-ment with Him, covers wickedness and impiety, unrighteousness, injustice, showing that they do not desire that oneness.]
Rom 1:19-25 KJV) Because that which may be known of Almighty is manifest in them; for Almighty hath shewed it unto them. 1:20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 1:21 Because that, when they knew Almighty, they glorified him not as Almighty, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 1:23 And changed the beauty of the uncorruptible Almighty into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. 1:24 Wherefore Almighty also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 1:25 Who changed the truth of Almighty into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Godhead G2304From G2316; godlike (neuter as noun, divinity): - divine, godhead.
G2316Of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with G3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively a magistrate; by Hebraism very: - X exceeding, God, god [-ly, -ward].
[What really should we use here since Yahweh is the head of all. The implication is for the trinity since it has a group which would need a head. This is not the topic for today so just pray about it.]
[You claim you want the abundant life, fully? But you want it free from personal cost, you want this life here on earth abundantly full and free?]
(Luk 14:26-33 KJV) If any man come to Me, and hate [love less] not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple. 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 14:29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 14:30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
disciple G3101 From G3129; a learner, that is, pupil: - disciple.
Total KJV occurrences: 268
G3129 Prolonged from a primary verb, another form of which, μαθέω matheō, is used as an alternate in certain tenses; to learn (in any way): - learn, understand.
Total KJV occurrences: 25
[For me this says plainly that any who seek to learn of Him and are not able or willing to pay the price of heeding His teachings cannot receive all they could and may desire as long as cost stands between. The hearing and obeying in love is a requirement not a request if you would truly learn of Him! There is no room in the heart for two masters, if Yahweh is in control then we are the servant not the served.]
(Mat 16:21-23 KJV) From that time forth began Yahshua to shew unto his disciples, how that He must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 16:22 Then Peter took Him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Master: this shall not be unto thee. 16:23 But He turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind Me, Satan: thou art an offence unto Me: for thou savourest not the things that be of Almighty, but those that be of men.
[I do not believe I am any where near Yahshua but it is my desire to be like Him in all ways. I have cried my woes as a woman, wife, mother, child, victim, on and on but those circumstances were my choice. After this last episode I believe that it was never Yahweh's wish for my life, at least not at that time. I always felt and the feeling has been said of me that there was always a distancing in me that none could touch. I believe that was where Yahweh waited for me. Do not cause me to stumble because my walk is hard. Do not encourage me to walk less humbly. Do not allow me to take advantage of physically limiting circumstances as an excuse not to stand and be counted. If you love me encourage me to stand and be counted regardless the cost to any of us! And I will do the same for you!]
