It Is A Gift

August 8, 2020

[We are going to see what scripture tells us about the gift giving of Yahweh.]

(Ecc 3:10-14 KJV) I have seen the travail, which Almighty hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that Almighty maketh from the beginning to the end. 3:12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of Almighty. 3:14 I know that, whatsoever Almighty doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and Almighty doeth it, that men should fear before Him.

Fear H3372 A primitive root; to fear; morally to revere; causatively to frighten: - affright, be (make) afraid, dread (-ful), (put in) fear (-ful, -fully, -ing). (be had in) reverence (-end), X see, terrible (act, -ness, thing).

REV'ERENCE, n. [L. reverentia.] {Websters Dic.}1. Fear mingled with respect and esteem; veneration. When quarrels and factions are carried openly, it is a sign that the reverence of government is lost.

The fear acceptable to Almighty, is a filial fear, an awful reverence of the divine nature, proceeding from a just esteem of his perfections, which produces in us an inclination to his service and an unwillingness to offend him.

Reverence is nearly equivalent to veneration, but expresses something less of the same emotion. It differs from awe, which is an emotion compounded of fear, dread or terror, with admiration of something great, but not necessarily implying love or affection. We feel reverence for a parent, and for an upright magistrate, but we stand in awe of a tyrant. This distinction may not always be observed.

2. An act of respect or obeisance; a bow or courtesy. 2 Sam 9. 3. A title of the clergy. 4. A poetical title of a father.

REV'ERENCE, v.t. To regard with reverence; to regard with fear mingled with respect and affection. We reverence superiors for their age, their authority and their virtues. We ought to reverence parents and upright judges and magistrates. We ought to reverence the Supreme Being, his word and his ordinances.

Those that I reverence, those I fear, the wise.

They will reverence my son. Mat 21.

Let the wife see that she reverence her husband. Eph 5.

[ALL OF OUR TROUBLES are gifts to be accepted as training exercises to strengthen us in our trust of Yahweh and the ability of Yahshua’s blood to wipe away all repented sin. In Yahweh’s time table we will see the beauty and love He has bestowed upon us and what part those past troubles have played in preparing us not only to receive His gifts, but to use then as He intends.

When I first studied and learned I was to hold Yahweh in awe and awe is fear I wondered why He would want us to fear Him since He has also asked us to love Him. Now I understand that I am to love Him so much that it would break my heart to know I had offended Him in any way, or that I had let Him down in speech or action.

He has gifted me with life and free choice, which He gave to all who have been born. In my exercise of free choice my love for Him is shown to others. When I expect Him to ‘understand’ my point of view and to allow it without consequences, you understand it is because it was He who gave me choice, I am acting like a spoiled child who refuses to understand that instruction with consequences is for his own good.]

(Ecc 5:18-20 KJV) Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which Almighty giveth him: for it is his portion. 5:19 Every man also to whom Almighty hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of Almighty. 5:20 For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because Almighty answereth him in the joy of his heart.

(Jas 1:27 KJV) Pure religion and undefiled before Almighty and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

[Yahweh gives gifts to all of us  in proportion to our gifting to use it aright. Many turn their backs on the responsibility the gifting of wealth carries as did the rich farmer who was going to store up his plenty for his own use instead of sharing it with those scripture plainly tells us we are to help. Especially those who will never be able to repay us. We are to give without thought of repayment in this life or the next simply to testify to the supply and love of Yahweh toward the poor and disfranchised. When our actions show the love of Yahweh toward His creation it will touch the hearts of those helped and the hearts of those watching to see if our actions fit our testimony.]

(Joh 4:7-10 KJV) There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Yahshua saith unto her, Give me to drink. 4:8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 4:9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto Jim, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 4:10 Yahshua answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of Almighty, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.

(Joh 3:16 KJV) For Almighty so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(Rom 5:15 KJV) But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of Almighty, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Yahshua Messiah, hath abounded unto many.

[Yahshua is the greatest gift we can receive in this life. It is through our repentant acceptance of His sacrifice we are allowed entrance into the presence of our Heavenly Father, Yahweh. As He taught us in John 17 to pray to the Father in Yahshua’s name so we will be heard and answered. Yahshua is the door, there is no other way into the sheep fold.]

(Act 8:20 KJV) But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of Almighty may be purchased with money. 8:21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of Almighty. 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray Almighty, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 8:23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

[Some establish ministries to make money for themselves, it is those spoken to here. Simon’s heart was greedy of gain and his offer to ‘buy’ the gift showed how little he understood about Yahweh’s gifting. He was instructed to repent his thoughts. Our minds as well drift where they should not occasionally and we are also called to repentance for those thoughts even if we do not act of them. The one spoken to here has a bitter spirit and is tied to his sin. Yahshua is the only answer for such a person.]

(Rom 6:23 KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of Almighty is eternal life through Yahshua Messiah our Master.

[Plainly spoken, plainly understood.]

(1Co 7:7 KJV) For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of Almighty, one after this manner, and another after that.

[Yahweh gifted/gifts us when and where needed, not necessarily at birth. Many develop new gifts as they come into covenant with Yahweh and can be trusted to develop them as needed to serve Yahweh and not the world. I know I lost an early gifting when it was my intent to use it for self gratification. I am thankful for the loss for it saved me from many temptations.]

(Eph 2:8 KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Almighty:

(Eph 3:2-6 KJV) If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of Almighty which is given me to you-ward: 3:3 How that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Messiah) 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto His set-apart apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Messiah by the good news: 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of Almighty given unto me by the effectual working of His power.

[We all know the story of how Paul came to have a true understanding of who Yahshua is, but we need to understand it was a gifting he did not seek. His heart was set to obey tradition as his religion, but Yahweh used the training Paul had received for His own ends to reach others with His truth, the truth of the sufficiency of Yahshua’s blood to cover repented sins.]

(2Ti 1:5-7 KJV) When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of Almighty, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. 1:7 For Almighty hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

[Paul believed Timothy had the faith necessary to ‘stir up’ Yahweh’s gifting in himself. If we feel left out perhaps we also need to believe the promises and pray for Yahweh to reveal our gift or gifts. We are not to fear the world. We are to trust Yahweh to supply the power to do as He asks, to help us to be loving, and to keep our minds working for Him.]

1Pe 4:8-10 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of Almighty.

[If you are not comfortable offering hospitality ask Yahweh to empower you and gift you with the common sense to use it properly, not without proper boundaries. You may never be called to use the gift, but you will have prepared your heart to be willing. Not all have the same gift, not all are called to the same service, but all are called to use the gifts Yahweh gave them for the cause of Yahweh!]
